     This bowl was submitted 
to the Ch'ing court as tribute 
from Kashgar during the Ch'ien-
lung reign.  The Ch'ien-lung 
Emperor had the phrases  "To  
be eternally treasured by my 
sons and grandsons" and "For 
imperial use of the Ch'ien-lung 
Emperor" engraved inside it.
